Mediation is a form of dispute resolution, called Alternative Dispute Resolution, in which the parties work with an independent mediator in an attempt to resolve a case.
Under local rules, a judge in an Atlanta divorce case may order mediation. The outcome of the mediation is not binding unless the parties have reached an agreement. It can often be beneficial for parties to reach their own agreement rather than roll the dice and let a judge tell them what to do.
At mediation, you are entitled to representation. Andrew H. Speaker often represents clients at mediation to help facilitate the process and to protect your best interests. Please contact us for more information.
